Game Concept: Street Survivor

Street Survivor is a street fighter themed puzzle game. The idea came about as a response to the Mash Up challenge, taking elements from both Operation and Street Fighter. The aim is to place players in a world with a similar aesthetic to the original Street Fighter but to change the game style. In Street Survivor players will navigate through multiple two dimensional side scrolling levels as a amateur street fighter looking to build their skills. However, rather than beating up everyone they see, they will honing their motor skills using a combination lock controller to open a series of dumpsters.

Target Audience

The game is targeted at fans of the Street Fighter franchise who are looking for a less intense way to spend some time in their favorite game world.

Game Narrative

You play as an up and coming fighter in the Street Fighter universe looking to build up credibility and earn enough money to enter the world warrior tournament. You achieve this by unlocking dumpsters which contain money and other rewards. These dumpsters become increasingly difficult requiring more and more inputs before the lock will be opened.

Gameplay Mechanics

Users interact with the world with a simple control system as picture below.

Prototype Controller
By pressing and holding the left quarter circle the player fighter would move towards the left edge of the scene while holding the right quarter circle would move the fighter towards the right. When the player fighter reached a locked dumpster the combination lock would become active. Players would then need to perform a series of actions such as a number sequence (or turn sequence) to successful unlock the dumpster and process to a new scene.
